About Anousheh

Hi, I’m Anousheh, and I am one of the newer members of the IntraQuest Community. I have over five years’ experience working within school environments, where my passion has been around children’s mental health and wellbeing. I use an Integrative Holistic approach when working with children therapeutically and mostly use a non-directive way of working. My methods help the child to work within the unconscious and conscious part of their brain. I continue to receive monthly supervision to develop my skills and help me in becoming the best therapist I can be. I believe that with a little bit of help, all children have the ability to find their own solutions to their problems.

Although born and raised in the UK, I am half Iranian and half Northern Irish. I have travelled the world in my earlier adult life, and love experiencing and exploring different cultures. Since I was a child, I’ve always been an enthusiastic athlete, and sport remains a big part of who I am. Alongside working therapeutically with children, I also regularly coach gymnastics to children and teenagers. I love animals (but I’m not quite so keen on insects), the warmer the temperature outside, the better, and whenever I need some head space, my go-to is to exercise, go out for a walk or listen to music. Before starting my journey to become a Play Therapist, I worked as a Teaching Assistant. I loved doing this as my job, but soon realised that my skills were more suited towards helping children with their emotional and social needs, rather than academically. 

I have been told I am approachable, warm and non-judgemental, all qualities that I feel have lead me into becoming a Child Psychotherapist.

Trained in Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, AUTPlay Therapy and Group Therapy.
