About Gerard 

Hi I’m one of Intraquest’s non executive directors.

I’m retired now. I’ve worked for social services most of my professional life. Starting as a social worker and ending as a Manager via Children and Families, Disability Services, Training and Development.

I was the founding chair of a gay man’s health project in the voluntary sector and I even managed Manchester Gay Pride one year.

Since retiring I’ve had time to tap into the creative side of me. I’m learning to draw and paint digitally, I’m dabbling in animation and I make the odd video here and there.

I’m also learning to become pack leader for our new puppy, Jack to ensure he grows into a settled and happy adult. A polar opposite approach to enabling the same thing for children and it’s proving an interesting challenge.

I’m on Intraquest’s board to offer support and advice around the development of its services and give the occasional nudge towards more creative approaches to the work.
