Anousheh Wicks
Child Therapist
Hi, I’m Anousheh, and I am one of the newer members of the IntraQuest Community. I have over five years’ experience working within school environments, where my passion has been around children’s mental health and wellbeing. I use an Integrative Holistic approach when working with children therapeutically and mostly use a non-directive way of working. My methods help the child to work within the unconscious and conscious part of their brain. I continue to receive monthly supervision to develop my skills and help me in becoming the best therapist I can be. I believe that with a little bit of help, all children have the ability to find their own solutions to their problems.
Although born and raised in the UK, I am half Iranian and half Northern Irish. I have travelled the world in my earlier adult life, and love experiencing and exploring different cultures. Since I was a child, I’ve always been an enthusiastic athlete, and sport remains a big part of who I am. Alongside working therapeutically with children, I also regularly coach gymnastics to children and teenagers. I love animals (but I’m not quite so keen on insects), the warmer the temperature outside, the better, and whenever I need some head space, my go-to is to exercise, go out for a walk or listen to music. Before starting my journey to become a Play Therapist, I worked as a Teaching Assistant. I loved doing this as my job, but soon realised that my skills were more suited towards helping children with their emotional and social needs, rather than academically.
I have been told I am approachable, warm and non-judgemental, all qualities that I feel have lead me into becoming a Child Psychotherapist.
Trained in Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, AUTPlay Therapy and Group Therapy.

Child Therapist
Hi, I’m a Play Therapist. I find it such an honour to work with and be a part of a child’s/young person’s journey into self-awareness and acceptance. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a child in the playroom grow and blossom and transfer this into their everyday life to reach their full potential in every way.
I am privileged to have three of my own children and seeing them grow and develop is my greatest joy. I love spending time with them, even if it is as a taxi to their various social activities. We love as a family, children, husband, and our beloved four-legged friend, spending time away in our “tin tent”, mostly on the East coast or North Yorkshire Moors. I love nothing more than getting out into nature, whether it’s a hike across the moors, a brisk walk on the beach or a run over my local hills. Away from the great outdoors I enjoy having a go at painting or doing a spot of yoga. I also enjoy snuggling up with a good book getting totally lost in another world.
In my previous life I trained as a primary school teacher and spent 20 years teaching across all age groups in various schools. It was through my time in Early Years and seeing the power of play, not only in learning academically and about the world around us, but also personally on an emotional level. It was through this that I began my journey as a Play Therapist.
Trained in Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, AUTPlay Therapy & Group Therapy.

Hi, thank you for popping by, I’m Paula and I’m a Clinical Psychologist, I love helping people and have lots of experience working with children, families, and adults with a wide range of issues that might be causing difficulties. I have been helping people for over 14 years and use lots of different therapies to help you and those around you to overcome some difficult feelings and emotions. I think that my strengths are working with complex cases and being able to tease out the relevant issues and find a way forward to help individuals and their families.
As I mentioned I use lots of different therapies to help people and particularly like animal assisted therapy, this is where an animal joins us and is part of the therapeutic process, just stroking an animal can help us to feel better and many people also find that it’s easier to talk whilst cuddling a dog or a cat. I also like to use an Internal Family Systems approach, which isn’t about your family but rather about your own internal system and how we can experience different conflicting feelings. An example might be how we can be scared/nervous about something as well as happy/excited at the same time and how these “opposite” feelings can cause our internal world to become a bit confused and upset, our job together would be to explore these feelings and iron out any confusion.
Of course, there are many different types of therapy to help people, but for me the most important thing is building a good therapeutic relationship, we need to be able to get on and trust each other so that we can work together and resolve any issues that might be causing problems.
Fun fact: I love animals and have 2 dogs of my own, M&M (Max and Maddie, both rescue dogs) who are my way of relaxing when I come home from a busy day, and I like nothing more than to take them on long walks. They are very pampered and attend daycare when I am at work, where they play all day with their doggy friends, they can even have a dip in the swimming pool or have a night in the doggy hotel!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about me and I hope the lovely team at IntraQuest can be part of your journey.

Non-executive Director
Hi I’m one of Intraquest’s non executive directors.
I’m retired now. I’ve worked for social services most of my professional life. Starting as a social worker and ending as a Manager via Children and Families, Disability Services, Training and Development.
I was the founding chair of a gay man’s health project in the voluntary sector and I even managed Manchester Gay Pride one year.
Since retiring I’ve had time to tap into the creative side of me. I’m learning to draw and paint digitally, I’m dabbling in animation and I make the odd video here and there.
I’m also learning to become pack leader for our new puppy, Jack to ensure he grows into a settled and happy adult. A polar opposite approach to enabling the same thing for children and it’s proving an interesting challenge.
I’m on Intraquest’s board to offer support and advice around the development of its services and give the occasional nudge towards more creative approaches to the work.

Business Manager
Hello, I’m Helen and I joined the IntraQuest family in January 2021 as Business Support Officer. Variety is the spice of life for me and as well as being a qualified office administrator, I am a qualified Special Needs Teaching Assistant, Jan Fennell Dog Listener and have been a small business owner of a dog walking and pet care service provider.
I share my home with two very special people, my husband Chris and my daughter Hattie. Being a parent is most definitely my greatest achievement to date. A lover of all creatures great and small, I am the lucky owner of three beautiful Labradors. One of my favourite pastimes is being outdoors with my dogs on the moors and when I can, by the sea. To completely switch off, I love to watch a good drama (usually with a dog on my lap), film at the cinema and a play at the theatre. Dislikes – well that’s easy, repetitive domestic chores. 🤣
Here at IntraQuest, my role is quite varied and I wear many hats – from human resources, health & safety, to greeting and welcoming our visitors. The question “How can I help” is at the centre of everything I do here at IntraQuest. Well, that’s enough about me! Thanks for reading and welcome to IntraQuest.

James Cadieux
Child Therapist
James Cadieux
Child Therapist
Hi! I’m James,
A bit more about me – My partner and I had our first child towards the end of 2019. Since then, I’ve been very privileged to watch our new little human grow and develop; I have loved every minute of it (yes, even the 2am wake ups). Being a dad leaves little time for much else but I always make space for some sort of mindfulness. This takes many forms for me. I enjoy spending time doing more conventional mindfulness meditation but I also try to spend as much time as possible building furniture and carving various bits and bobs from wood. I love it when the world disappears and it’s just me, my thoughts (and perhaps a spoon I’m carving!).
My journey into therapy began over ten years ago when I returned from teaching in Tokyo. I initially returned with the goal of qualifying as a teacher. I spent some time working as a behaviour mentor in primary schools and quickly changed my mind about teaching. Spending time one to one with children who were struggling with various challenges helped me to begin to understand what small people need to help them with their big feelings. I knew it had something to do with connection and relationship, so I went and studied adult person-centred counselling for a while before enrolling on the Play Therapy Masters programme. Since qualifying I have gone on to train in Filial Therapy. I would say working with whole families in this way is now my favourite part of the job. I really enjoy watching parents discover a whole new aspect to their children’s world and I love seeing parents discover that they already have what they need to help their children within themselves.
Looking forward to meeting you at IntraQuest soon.

Jen Westwood
PG DIP, BA (HONS), HND (MBAPT)
Founding Director and CEO (Well-being & Community Services)
Hi I’m Jen, one of the founding directors here at IntraQuest.
I help to oversee all of our Wellbeing services which includes supporting our staff and their schools, plus everything that goes on at our own centre. My background is as a play therapist, however over the years I’ve added to my skill set with modalities like Filial Therapy, AUTPlay Therapy & Animal Assisted Therapy. I’m in the fortunate position to be able to ‘dream’ alongside our families and therapists and co-create a business that exudes hope. I love what I do, and am passionate about helping others to find their souls purpose, which often begins with giving yourself time to slow down and reflect. For me, animals help me to slow down. They draw me out of my head and sometimes their playfulness alone can turn my ‘frown’ upside down 😊 I’m also a self-confessed coffee snob! Love a freshly brewed coffee, especially a vanilla latte or two! Anyway, thanks for stopping by and getting to know me a little better, I wish you well on your healing journey.

Senior Integrative Therapist
Julie Embrey-Jones
Senior Integrative Therapist
My name is Julie and I am an Integrative Therapist and work with CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), TA (Transactional Analysis) and PC (Person Centred Therapy).
I am a very energetic person who loves the outdoors, especially on the beach and love water sports in the sea. Being out in my kayak riding the waves or paddle boarding makes me feel so relaxed and happy – no matter what the British weather is like! I also love walking, running and spending time with my family.
I find nothing more satisfying than working with people and helping them to feel better, gain more confidence and start enjoying life whether this is children or adults.
I have spent my whole working life either with Greater Manchester Police or within the Children’s Social Care on the front line. Having been employed by a Local Authority for almost 35 years I have worked mostly within the safeguarding teams but also for the Early Help team too.
I have a particular interest in Domestic Violence and this has been my main role on the front line within social care for the latter years of my career working with victims, perpetrators and also children. I am trained to deliver the Freedom Programme for Women and the Freedom for Men and have also spent many years delivering the Surviving Teenager’s parenting courses for the Local Authority. I have to say, working with teenagers is also a passion of mine and I get so much satisfaction from supporting them through their most difficult years. Also, I get great satisfaction supporting families and teenagers to re connect.
As I have been working part time within social care I was fortunate enough to also qualify and work as an Integrative Therapist and have been very lucky to work with Intraquest Well being Centre for the past couple of years which I feel is the most welcoming and loveliest place ever to work!
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience within a range of issues and love to welcome my clients with open arms, empathy and gentleness.
Trained in person-centred counselling, transactional analysis & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Karen Keates
Founding Director
Karen Keates
BSc (Hons), Dip (MBABCP)
Founding Director
Hi there, thanks for taking an interest in our business and in me personally!
I’m a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, Life Coach and Trainer and I’m also the Co-Founder of IntraQuest and Director of Learning Services.
My favourite things in life are (in no particular order) good coffee, free time, quad biking, yoga (I’m a teacher of it), duvet days with box sets and animals – specifically my own menagerie of pets.
My favourite things in work are helping people to feel better about themselves quickly and empowering people to work, rest and play more effectively.
Before IntraQuest I spent many years working as a substance intervention worker and as a senior residential care worker supporting young people and families experiencing a range of difficulties. During this time, I came to appreciate the hard work and dedication that front line practitioners invest in their work and my passion to support these professionals grew. Having overcome a long history of drug addiction, I personally benefited from a great deal of support over those years of recovery and working ‘on the other side’ has afforded me a unique perspective on the needs of the services user and service provider alike.
I now spend most of my time working with adults, either in one-to-one sessions for clinical supervision or life coaching & therapy, or in groups for specialist training & professional development. When my clients get those ‘light bulb moments’ which enable them to step forward more confidently and in a way that is self-appreciating, I am genuinely winning at life! Oh, and I also spend a fair bit of time tinkering with resource development and training design alongside the rest of our team. If you head over to our members area and sign up, you can have some freebies and also browse through our resource catalogue and see if anything takes your fancy 😊
That’s a little about me. If you’d like to get in touch, head over to our contact page and drop me an email.
Trained in Clinical Supervision, Person-centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy & Yoga. Currently training in Sensori Motor Psychotherapy.

Kate Jackson
Senior Child Therapist
Kate Jackson
B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc, PGDip,
Senior Child Therapist
I’m a Play Therapist and Clinical Supervisor with many years of experience using play and creative arts to help children and young people overcome challenges. My own experiences of accessing therapy have taught me the importance of feeling truly seen, heard, acknowledged and valued in order for change and growth to occur. This is at the heart of what I aim to provide for those I support.
I love the varied nature of my role. I spend part of my week providing one to one play therapy, small group therapeutic play and consultation in one of our partner schools. I also work at our well-being centre supporting social care clients to process their experiences through therapy or life story work. I help their key adults develop additional tools and ways of being which enhance and strengthen the attachment relationship.
Additionally, I provide clinical supervision for other professionals and love sharing my passion for therapeutic play through delivering interactive courses that bring theory to life through experiential activities.
Moments that give me goose bumps are when clients take risks such as trying out a different way of being with others or trying out different ways of doing things. Stepping out of their comfort zone can bring about healing and recovery.
A bit about my world beyond therapy –
I love eating chocolate, getting my head into a good book, walking along Northumbrian beaches, running and working out or even given myself permission not to exercise when down time or more chocolate is what’s needed most!
Trained in Clinical Supervision, Play Therapy, Sandstory Therapy, Filial Therapy, AUTPlay Therapy, Group Therapy & delivers training.

Katie Malley
Associate Therapeutic Education & Safeguarding Consultant
Hi my name is Katie, and I am a Therapeutic Education and Safeguarding Consultant. I am a qualified Trauma Informed Mental Health Practitioner and a registered Clinical Hypnotherapist. I am a consultant with Trauma Informed Schools UK and the NSPCC. I spend most of my time either facilitating supervision, working therapeutically with children and adults, or delivering training.
Before I joined the Intraquest team I worked with children and families for over 16 years, latterly as Assistant Principal, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Mental Health Lead. Within my role, I led on all aspects of safeguarding, wellbeing and pastoral care.
Wellbeing and mental health support have always been a passion of mine and with this in mind, I trained as a 200hr Certified Yoga Teach and Meditation Teacher so I could share the benefits of Yoga with others. I have a particular interest in restorative yoga and how yoga can support confidence and self-esteem. Yoga really is for everybody.
On a personal note, I love nothing more than walking my two dogs and spending time with my family. I enjoy catching up with friends, spending time outdoors and watching a good film. I’m also currently training in integrative counselling and psychotherapy, which I am loving. My favourite things in life, as you can imagine, are my dogs, pizza and travelling!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about me and I hope the lovely team at IntraQuest can be part of your journey.

Marie Beasley
MBACP
Child Therapist
Hi, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.
I am a Play Therapist (MBACP) and I work in different schools in Manchester. When I am not working, things I love to do are walking in the hills, being out in nature, running, dancing, baking, eating good food and hanging out with my four energetic boys (and husband).
What I love about my job as a play therapist is helping a child know that they are unconditionally accepted and that they can bring their whole self to the playroom. It is a privilege to be a part of a child’s journey in exploring their feelings and experiences and finding resolution or acceptance within this.
Before becoming a Play Therapist and working for Intraquest, I spent many years working as a qualified youth worker with young people in various community settings. Much of my practice as a youth worker has involved working with young people who have challenging behaviour which I feel has equipped me with confidence, skills and empathy to work with children with more challenging needs. When working in this setting it highlighted the need to work with the whole family. In play therapy I feel this is a vital part of the process of therapy, that the family is supported and empowered too.
Trained in Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, AUTPlay Therapy & Group Therapy.

Michaela Wibberley
Holistic Therapist & Non Executive Director
Hello, my name is Michaela. I am a holistic therapist, fully qualified in Swedish and Deep Tissue massage, Usui Reiki and Mindfulness. I have also trained in holistic therapies, crystal and sound healing and I am fully insured by The Guild of Holistic Therapists.
Every-day stress, negative thought patterns and distressing experiences can manifest in several ways – psychologically, emotionally and physically. These experiences can remain stored in different parts of our body and surface at any moment. Stress and trauma can sometimes be stored in the central nervous system, which is linked to all our chakra system, vital organs and tissue and muscles. This can cause physical pain and discomfort.
I provide holistic treatments in a tranquil setting where you can rebalance and reconnect with the mind, body and spirit. My treatments can help reduce any symptoms you may be experiencing and help to maintain a sense of overall health and wellbeing.

Neil Ford
Child Therapist
Neil Ford
Child Therapist
Hi,
I’m Neil and I am a therapist at IntraQuest. I am passionate about this role and being part of such a forward-thinking organisation. I am also passionate about my family, music, football and acting. The latter of which has been integral in my progress towards becoming a therapist, having studied acting at University and a further three years training at the Manchester School of Acting, encouraging an openness and freedom of expression that has been supportive of my work in the playroom. Music has always been a significant aspect of my life and I enjoy DJ’ing and creating electronic music during my free time, which, to be fair, is largely utilised by spending time with my wife and two lovely children, who’s company I enjoy dearly.
Becoming a dad has been the catalyst behind my journey into working with children, with IntraQuest having supported me throughout this process, and beyond. They have provided me with voluntary roles within their organisation and at Oldham Council. These roles have included play groups, mother & baby groups, shadowing social workers and providing support as a Therapeutic Support Assistant for messy play groups. I have also trained separately as a ‘Relax Kids’ Coach, working at a variety of schools, and a college. During this period I became certain that my future lay in working with children therapeutically and I feel very proud to now be a permanent member of the IntraQuest family, having completed training as a Person-Centred Play Therapist. Since qualifying, I have continued with my training and I am now able to provide AUTPlay Therapy and Filial Therapy to individuals and their families.
My experiences both in and out of these roles have informed a deeply-held belief that connection is the bedrock of any human relationship, without which, we are unable to enact change and make progress in any meaningful way. Therefore, I view my position as one that can offer a connection to others that is safe, trusting and supportive, at a time when it may be needed the most. If play can be accepted as being the language of a child, then play can provide children with the necessary vocabulary to navigate their life, moving forward.
Trained in Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, AUTPlay Therapy & Group Therapy.

Paula Raishbrooke
Associate Occupational Therapist
Paula Raishbrooke
Associate Occupational Therapist
Hi there, just a little to introduce myself!
I’m an Occupational Therapist and I’ve been qualified for over 20 years and have been working with children and young people for 16 years.
Occupational Therapy focuses on enabling a person to be able to do the things they need to, want to and have to do. It centres round occupation such as self-care activities (dressing, brushing teeth, using a knife and fork), leisure (things that make us happy such as sports, riding a bike, crafts, hobbies) and work (writing, joining in with class activities at school, going to work etc). A child’s main occupation is play which is something I love to do!
People can struggle in their occupations due to physical, sensory, communication difficulties and lots more reasons. I focus on the sensory side of things. We have lots of different sensory systems that help us understand our body and the world around us but sometimes these sensory systems aren’t working properly. The body may be sensitive to sensory input such as touch, sound, vision, and this can make things seem painful and uncomfortable such as brushing our teeth, tolerating labels in our clothes or we can find noises too loud, lights too bright etc. The body may also seek sensory input and we might fidget a lot, spin or put things in our mouth. When our sensory systems don’t work properly we can struggle with our day to day occupations. I also look at physical aspects such as coordination (being able to run, jump, hop, walk without bumping into things) and fine motor skills (using our hands for writing, scissors, dressing etc).
I have a passion for what I do as I’ve seen children and young people overcome their difficulties and go onto participate in daily occupations that have previously been a struggle.
A bit about myself! I’m an active person who enjoys the outdoors and going for walks with my family and friends. I do tap, ballet and modern. I play the piano and flute and have tried to teach myself the violin and guitar although need some tips and pointers to make it sound like music!
Please feel free to get in touch if you would like further information about how I can help you and your child.

Paula Williamson
Associate Art Therapist
Paula Williamson
Associate Art Therapist
Hi, my name is Paula, but I’m sometimes called Pol for short.
I am an Art Therapist, and I really hope that together we can explore our creativity in this wonderful place at IntraQuest. I have predominately worked with children and young people, but I have also spent many years supporting adults within mental health social care services. I also mentor university students with mental health difficulties.
I live with my arty husband and my 2 boys, who call themselves the guardians to our 6 guinea pigs that live in our kitchen. It can get very noisy, especially when they hear the fridge door open! I love nature, walking in woodlands and visiting the seaside. I am inspired by nature in my own artwork, the changing colours and textures. I use this to find calm and a sense of safety within me. I hope that during our sessions we can begin to find that too. Feeling safe and developing trust is so important.
You certainly don’t need to be good at art to do art therapy! I have all sorts of art materials to explore and play with. I can spend lots of time just playing with scraps of fabric, paint and collage and seeing what happens! Using art materials is another way to describe what’s happened to us or to express how we are feeling. Art invites us to use another language. Perhaps we haven’t found the words yet… but when you are ready and by looking at our images together, we can discover those words and a sense of understanding. That’s the amazing part!
I love helping people find a voice through making and creating, whether big, messy, and powerful or quiet, sad, or just needing time to sit with acceptance and no judgement. I am passionate about art therapy, seeing and feeling the positive changes is heart-warming. I really look forward to sharing a journey with you.

Woof! Rupert is one of our therapy pups in training. Although the oldest of the two, Rupert is a little shy. He was fostered as a pup to another dog mummy, as his mummy couldn’t produce enough milk to feed him. This has made him a little uncertain of people, but if you slowly bend down to his level, offer your hand and tickle his chin, you’ll soon win him over. He’s already grown in confidence and once he gets to know you, will give lots of cuddles and kisses.

I’m Tanya and I consider myself to be really lucky to be a director within IntraQuest. I’m a mum of two teenagers who are full of life and constantly challenge my thinking and character. Obviously in a good way. My favourite things in life are kindness, long walks to blow away life’s cobwebs, chill time with the lovely people in my life and my little Greek rescue dog.
I have spent my 33 year career working in local government within the child and family arena, SEND, quality and school readiness, life long permanence and adoption for little people, and domestic abuse services. Mainly leading teams to develop empathic and meaningful engagement with individuals and families, supporting and empowering behaviour change and resilience. The attributes I hold to be dear in life are compassion, laughter and friendship.

Tracy Monday
Finance Director
I am an integrative Adult therapist, administrator and also have the pleasure of being the Finance Director at IntraQuest C.I.C
Being an introvert, I love nothing more than sitting in a sunny spot listening to music or reading a book. Having a young daughter and a very yappy little dog doesn’t very often allow for this, so spending time with her, or laughing with friends and family is also right at the top of the list. I’m a positive person and believe very much that good can come out of every situation, no matter how it feels at the time, so patience and a positive approach always wins the day.
I have been working with IntraQuest since 2015, and I love it. The passion, drive and purpose of the company is addictive. My therapeutic training was carried out whilst working with Karen and Jen, and their support and guidance most definitely helped me become a better counsellor.
My time is spread between finance & administration in the mornings, then counselling clients in the afternoon in face-to-face sessions. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing an individual’s personal growth, self-acceptance and self-love, its makes everything worthwhile.
